THE COOPERATIVE - THE PRODUCER
The Oleificio San Giovanni Battista is a cooperative of farmers founded in 1968. To date, there are 125
olive-growing members, all from Colletorto and neighbouring villages, unique suppliers of olives that are
transformed in the cooperative plant. Colletorto, the small village of Molise that houses the oil mill, is
located in a medium-hilly geographical position, particularly suited to olive growing. Its microclimate has
favoured the natural selection of the centuries-old cultivar "Oliva Nera Di Colletorto", which is particular
and exclusive to our territory.

NERA DI COLLETORTO - THE CULTIVAR
It is a native cultivar of lower Molise, cultivated mainly in the municipality of Colletorto. Nera di Colletorto
has excellent agronomic characteristics; it is very resistant to pathogens and adverse atmospheric events.
Nera di Colletorto oils are characterised by a medium/intense level of fruity, bitter and spicy flavours, with
a prevalent hint of fresh almond and light notes of grass/leaf and artichoke.

GASTRONOMIC PAIRINGS
Its organoleptic characteristics make Nera di Colletorto oils suitable in combinations with regular soups and
legume soups, raw and cooked vegetables, white meats and vegetables.
