The dove is the Easter cake par excellence, essential to create the atmosphere of the party. Its origin is shrouded in legend: it is said that the cake was donated on Easter Day by the inhabitants of Pavia to the victorious Lombard King Alboin, as a sign of peace.

The quality of the raw materials and processing, strictly artisanal and more than 36 hours long, make the dove one of the best known and appreciated products of Gran Caffè Romano, both in the basic version and in all its delicious variations. Just to emphasize its uniqueness, we gave it an original name: Venus.
 

The dove was in fact the favorite animal of Venus, since his son Eros transformed the nymph Peristerà (dove in Greek) into the white bird, because guilty of having helped Venus to win a challenge.
