The buononaturale rice is grown organically in Piedmont, a region in the North of Italy. Our selection includes several traditional varieties, the Arborio and Carnaroli, as well as more “exotic” ones, the red wild and black Nerone. We offer each of these in 3 sizes: 500g, 1kg, and 5kg.
The buononaturale Arborio rice is an Italian variety with starchy short and wide grains. This gluten-free rice is ideal for preparing soupy rice dishes and creamy risotti.
The buononaturale Carnaroli rice is hailed as the “king” of Italian rices. Its grains are rich in amylose, a substance that guarantees the Carnaroli proverbial texture. Carnaroli rice can retain its properties throughout the cooking process by naturally striking a unique balance between water absorption and starch gelatinization.
The buononaturale black rice is a wholegrain rice characterized by black roundly shaped grains and bears an unmistakable aroma reminiscent of sandalwood or freshly baked bread. Rich in phosphorus and magnesium, black rice is ideally cooked with vegetables, crustaceans, and fish to make salads, soups, and ethnic dishes.
The buononaturale red rice stands out from other wholegrain rice varieties not only for its ruby-red and tapered grain, but also for its delicate flavor and aromatic fragrance. It grows spontaneously and provides an excellent supply of calcium, zinc, and iron. This wholegrain rice is ideal for summer meals, in combination with vegetable and fish.
